After just over a month, The Way Youth Zone in Wolverhampton has 2,500 members using the £6 million facility on School Street (that’s only 500 short of our yearly target already).
The Youth Zone is open 7 days a week, 365 days a year. There are over 20 activities every night for young people between the ages of 8-19 years old (or up to 25 with a disability) to take part in indoor rock climbing, football, gym sessions, art, boxing, employability sessions and lots more.
Philippa Gregory, Development Manager at The Way, said:
“We’re delighted that The Way Youth Zone is being used by so many young people in Wolverhampton. We’re so proud to be giving young people somewhere to go, something to do and someone to talk to.”
So far The Way Youth Zone has delivered over 560 activities for young people of all abilities. Kerryann Michaels’s daughter has been using The Way for the past few weeks:
“It has been amazing to see my daughter out grow her fears and get involved more with other children of all ages and disabilities. I am, as she is, so pleased that Wolverhampton has a place where all children can be themselves and do activities that they enjoy…”
People from all over Wolverhampton and beyond are using The Way Youth Zone on a regular basis. Here’s a lovely map…
