Over 4,000 young people from Wolverhampton have become members of The Way Youth Zone since we opened in January.
Thousands of young people come every week to take part in loads activities like rock climbing, art, football, basketball, boxing, dance and music. By getting involved in positive activities in a supportive environment, the Youth Zone is helping raise the aspirations, enhance prospects and improve the health and wellbeing of the city’s young people.
Since The Way officially opened its doors on Saturday 16th January 2016, it has seen hundreds of young people visiting every single night.
Cheryl Garvey, Chief Executive at The Way Youth Zone, said: “We’re delighted that so many young people from across Wolverhampton are coming to The Way Youth Zone and are using our incredible facility. We’re giving young people around here something to do, somewhere to go and someone to talk to. We couldn’t have made this happen without the incredible support from right across the city of Wolverhampton, bringing together the private sector, public sector and local community.”
Young people are travelling from across the whole of Wolverhampton, with some young people even coming from areas like Staffordshire, West Bromwich and Birmingham.
The Way is a 7 days a week offer for young people aged 8-19 years old, up to 25 for those with a disability. If you’re in that age group and fancy a look around just pop down.
