Football Coach – Fixed Term (Until 29th January)

Mon – 6pm-9pm, Tue – 5pm-8pm, Wed – 6pm-9pm, Fri – 6pm – 9pm, Sat am – 9:45am-2:15pm, Sat pm – 6pm-9pm
Total: 19.5 Hours

£8.21 per hour

The Way Wolverhampton Youth Zone opened in January 2016. Attracting young people from across the City and beyond through its fantastic facilities, the Youth Zone provides positive activities and practical support, and is open seven nights a week, at weekends and school holidays. The two-storey building has a dedicated sports hall, a climbing wall, gym, and dance, performing arts and music spaces, together with a café, outdoor 4-g multi-games pitch as well as enterprise and employability areas.

The Role
To deliver a range of exciting activity programmes to children and young people that will challenge, stimulate and provide new opportunities, in line with the sports activity programme in the Youth Zone. To teach and lead the fundamentals of a single sport or range of sports activities to young people which develop skills and fitness levels.

The Person
Due to the wide range of activities and facilities at The Way, we are looking for a qualified football coach to work on our MUGA. The candidate will be able to deliver fun, safe and challenging football sessions for all young people.

Youth Work Coordinator

Youth Worker: Employability and Enterprise

From £8.21 per hour
9 hours per week as follows:
Monday 5.30pm – 8.30pm
Tuesday 5.30pm – 8.30pm
Friday 5.30pm – 8.30pm

The Role
The role of the Youth Worker (Employability and Enterprise) is to support your line manager with the delivery of activities and projects within the Youth Zone. The role requires the creation of a space that is warm, welcoming, active and full of life and challenge. To enhance this, you will build positive and effective working relationships with young people and colleagues alike ensuring that young people are at the centre of all you do.
To develop and deliver a programme of activities within the Enterprise Zone that will raise young people’s aspirations and help them to acquire the skills, knowledge and confidence to be successful in the world of work and enterprise.

The Person
The successful candidate will have experience of face to face activity delivery, working with children and young people, particularly those who are disaffected, underachieving and/or have social/emotional barriers to participation.
A role model for young people, presenting a positive and energetic “can do” attitude whilst taking personal responsibility for own actions and committing to a culture of continuous improvement.

Youth Work Coordinator

The Role
To support the delivery of an efficient and effective structured Mentoring Programme aimed at vulnerable, disadvantaged and at-risk children and young people from across the Wolverhampton borough, through the coordination of volunteer mentors, under the leadership of the Mentoring Lead.

The Person
Effective people and project coordination skills, with essential experience in coordinating and supporting volunteers. You will have excellent organisation skills with the ability to manage your time and workload effectively and independently, whilst working in a proactive, creative and efficient manner. Ideally you will hold a nationally recognized qualification NVQ / VRQ Level 4 equivalent or above in a relevant subject and be IT literate with the ability to monitor and evaluate success and impact through use of a database and excel.
