Over October Half Term, the Wolves Premier League Kicks Project hosted a regional Kicks tournament at Wolverhampton College. The tournament was between teams from Wolves Kicks, West Brom Foundation, Aston Villa and The Way Youth Zone, of young people aged 16 – 18.
It was a 9 a side format with all teams being able to make unlimited substitutes. It was decided that each team would play each other twice and the winner would be the team who finished top of the league.
The first round of games saw, West Brom Foundation Kicks secure top spot, with Aston Villa in a close second, The Way Youth Zone third and Wolves Kicks fourth. The games were played in good spirt with, Wolves Kicks playing some good Football without getting that vital win and The Way Youth Zone again playing really excellent Football but with only one win and a draw.
The second round of results saw The Way Youth Zone secure one win and 1 draw again, and Wolves Kicks unlucky in their effort, only managing one narrow win.
The end result saw West Brom and The Way Youth Zone finish joint winners, and all teams received certificates thanking them for their positive participation within the tournament.
