Young people at The Way Youth Zone in Wolverhampton were thrilled to unveil the opening of their new stylish café.
The café was initially requested by the young people’s forum at The Way, where they get to voice their improvements for the zone or input their ideas and vision for the youth zone. The group came to a meeting of the board and requested several developments for the zone, including the café and a bigger and more improved Art Room – construction work is already under way and is due to open in November.
A more ‘grown up’ stylish café and with extra social seating was requested by the young people and that’s exactly what The Way aimed to achieve. The work on the café was carried out by local firm Simply Coffee Shops and everyone is delighted with the result.
Carla Priddon, CEO said: “We are absolutely delighted to see the young people’s ideas and requests come to life. Simply Coffee Shops listened to the brief and have created a modern, stylish and young person friendly place to relax and socialise. We serve hot meals for just £1 every session so come and try for yourself!”
The Way would like to thank Steve Morgan Foundation for their continued support with and in particular for this amazing new café and Simply Coffee Shops for the innovative design of the café – young people can now chill out, have a bite to eat and socialise in a modern, stylish cafe in the heart of the city.
