On Wednesday 24th February, The Way Youth Zone was kindly invited by Beverley Knight and The Birmingham Hippodrome to watch the relaxed show of Cinderella.
The relaxed show took place at Birmingham city centre’s Hippodrome, and was aimed at those with special needs.
Adaptations of the panto included the house lights being left on, the doors left open to allow for free movement, and loud noises and lighting effect were reduced.
The break areas also included a playroom and sensory room, which gave members of the audience a place to relax during the show.
Overall, the show was enjoyed by all with fantastic costumes, musicals and comedy. A staff member of The Way who attended the show said, “I had a really great night, the show was amazing. It’s such a good idea to put these kind of relaxed performances on so everyone of all abilities can enjoy the show! We’d like to thank Beverley Knight and the Hippodrome for kindly inviting us along.”
