Targeted – Mentoring (Learn more)

What could Mentoring do for you?

The Way Youth Zone’s Internationally Award-Winning Mentoring Programme provides young people from across the West Midlands with individualised mentoring support in a variety of forms.

We place a strong emphasis on the diversity and uniqueness of each young person we support, as well as the mentors who volunteer on the programme. There are no restrictions on where young people live or the reason they feel mentoring would benefit them, only a commitment to supporting every young person referred as individuals.

All made possible by the Steve Morgan Foundation

What do we offer?

We understand and appreciate that all young people are different and want to access mentoring in a way that suits them best! Find out more about the wide range of support available below.

1:1 Mentoring

Our core mentoring support provides young people aged 8-19 (up to 25 with a disability) with dedicated & completely individualised 1:1 mentoring support for up to 18 months.

To help young people achieve their goals, each mentee has access to a monthly allowance providing an opportunity to experience new things, visit new places & meet new people.

Peer Mentoring

As a short course ASDAN registered centre we are able to support young people, aged 13-19 years, to develop their own mentoring skills & train as peer mentors.

Our programme covers the skills & knowledge needed to effectively peer mentor, encouraging young people to use their voices & experiences to champion inclusion, diversity & community.

Group Mentoring

Our weekly group mentoring sessions provide a  space that is for and led by the young people within it, giving them ownership to address current youth & societal issues.

During these sessions, young people are supported in small groups to explore & develop coping mechanisms in response areas such as social, emotional, and personal development.
