Youth Sports Worker – Gym and Fitness

Job Title: Youth Sports Worker – Gym and Fitness

Hours: Permanent part-time: Between 9 to 26 hours per week, evenings and weekends

Salary: £9.50 per hour

Location: The Way Youth Zone, Wolverhampton

Sports, along with the Arts and Youth Work, is at the heart of The Way Youth Zone’s offer to young people.  The sports offer at The Way is wide ranging and as a member of the Sports team, you will be key in ensuring young people have access to an exciting and engaging programme of multi-disciplinary activities that will be challenging, stimulating, fun, engaging and developmental. You will have access to our new gym, equipped with cardio and resistance equipment, Olympic weightlifting facilities and a functional area. You will be involved in teaching the fundamentals gym use and fitness, running fitness classes in line with your skills, as well as facilitating taster sessions and competitions, which engage young people and build their skills and fitness levels.

Within the Sports Team, we are looking for talented sports and fitness coaches to become part of a team with a wide range of skills, who are also passionate about working with young people. Ideally, you will have experience, or one or more coaching qualifications, such as Level 2 NGB including Level 2 Gym Instruction or above.  We are also looking applicants with Level 2 Certificate in Coaching Weightlifting.

Job Title: Arts Youth Worker – Film, Media and/or Podcast/Radio

Hours: Permanent part-time: Between 9 to 26 hours per week, evenings and weekends

Salary: £9.50 per hour

Location: The Way Youth Zone, Wolverhampton

The Arts, alongside sport and Youth Work is at the heart of The Way Youth Zone’s offer to young people.  The Arts offer is wide ranging and includes visual arts, music, media, dance and drama.  As a member of the Creative Arts Team, leading on the coaching and teaching in Film, Media, Podcast and Radio you will be key in ensuring young people have access to an exciting and creative Film/Media/Radio programme that will be challenging, stimulating, fun, engaging and developmental. You will be involved in teaching the fundamentals of a single or range of arts activities enabling young people to explore their creativity and grow their skills.

Within the arts team we are looking for a range of talented youth arts workers to make up a team with a diverse set of skills and expertise, who are also passionate about working with young people. Ideally, you will have experience delivering one or more of the following music arts: Film, Photography, Podcast, Animation.

Climbing Wall Coach

Job Title: Climbing Wall Coach

Hours: Fixed Term 12 months: 9 – 35 hours week, evenings and weekends

Salary: £9.50 per hour

Sports and outdoor pursuits, alongside the Arts and Youth Work, is at the heart of The Way’s offer to young people.  The sports and climbing offer at The Way is wide ranging and as a member of the Sports team, you will be key in ensuring young people have access to an exciting and engaging programme of adventurous activities that will be challenging, stimulating, fun, engaging and developmental.

You will ensure the climbing wall is well used and maintained to a high standard by offering young people safe, exciting and challenging routes to climb in a friendly and welcoming environment. You will provide supervision and advice to young people and support and guide members of The Way Youth Zone’s staff and volunteers.

Teaching Kitchen Youth Worker

Job Title: Teaching Kitchen Youth Worker

Hours: Permanent part-time: Various hours from 6 hours to 20 hour per week

Salary: £9.50 per hour

Location: The Way Youth Zone, Wolverhampton

Our training kitchen space has been designed to allow our members the opportunity to learn about all about food, nutrition and food preparation.

Ultimately, our aim is that the Teaching Kitchen Youth Worker will aspire to achieve a ‘spill over effect’ among participants’ entire household. So that everyone in the family can benefit from our members cooking skills. 

As a member of The Way team, you will be key in ensuring young people have access to an exciting and creative arts programme that will be challenging, stimulating, fun, engaging and developmental.  You will be involved in teaching the fundamentals of a single or range of cooking & baking activities in line with your own specialism, enabling young people to explore their creativity and grow their skills.

Sports, along with the Arts and Youth Work, is at the heart of The Way Youth Zone’s offer to young people.  The boxing and mixed martial arts offer at The Way Youth Zone is wide ranging and as a member of the Sports team, you will be key in ensuring young people have access to an exciting and engaging programme of multi-disciplinary activities that will be challenging, stimulating, fun, engaging and developmental.  You will ensure the boxing suite and martial arts area is well used and maintained to a high standard, offering young people a safe, exciting and challenging arena in a friendly and welcoming environment. You will provide supervision and advice to young people and support and guide members of The Way Youth Zone’s staff and volunteers.

We are looking for talented sports and fitness coaches to become part of a Sports Team with a wide range of skills, who are also passionate about working with young people. Ideally, you will have experience, or one or more coaching qualifications, such as a level 2 National Governing Body Award in either boxing, kick boxing or other martial arts.

Grants and Trusts Manager

Job Title: Grants and Trusts Manager

Hours: Part-time, 20 hours negotiable – some evening and weekend work may be necessary

Salary: Up to £32,000 pro-rata

Location: The Way Youth Zone

We’re looking for a Grants and Trusts Manager who has demonstrable experience in generating income from a range of charitable trusts, foundations, and statutory funding sources. This income will support our exceptional services to the young people of Wolverhampton.

You will be able to work with colleagues across the organisation to ensure a collaborative approach to income generation and how outcomes of funding are achieved. You will be an experienced manager with a passion for the work that we do. You will have a creative approach, with an ability to write interesting and engaging proposals.
